A Gentle Bay of Elegance and Adventure

Selong Belanak Beach

Nestled along the south coast, Selong Belanak is often described as one of Lombok’s most exquisite beaches, yet it remains wonderfully accessible.

Just a short drive from Kuta you are greeted by a sheltered arc of pristine white sand, lapped by crystal-clear turquoise waters.

This scenic bay is celebrated for its soft, rolling waves, perfect for beginner surfers seeking a gentle introduction to the sport. Local surf schools along the shoreline offer private or small-group lessons, allowing guests to try their hand at riding the waves in a safe and relaxed setting. Beyond surfing, the wide, immaculate sands invite you to simply unwind, while the occasional sight of water buffalo ambling by adds a touch of authentic Lombok charm.

    • Learn to Surf with calm, beginner-friendly waves.
    • Relax and Sunbathe on a wide, pristine stretch of sand.
    • Capture Unique Photography with turquoise waters and buffalo in the frame.
    • Swim with Ease in the gently sloping bay.

Lombok’s Panoramic Coastal Jewel

Bukit Merese Hill

A short 20-minute drive east of Kuta brings you to Bukit Merese Hill, known locally as Bukit Merese. Rising gracefully above the coastline, this grassy hill rewards a short, easy climb with sweeping 360-degree views across turquoise bays, rugged cliffs, and untouched islets.

From the summit, gaze eastward towards Seger Beach, Batu Payung, and Gili Anak Anjakan, or west towards Tanjung Aan Beach.

The hill becomes truly magical at sunrise and sunset, when the horizon glows in golds, pinks, and lilacs. This is one of Lombok’s most photographed spots, making it a favourite for romantic moments, engagement shoots, and serene contemplation.

Visiting Tips Bukit Merese

    • Best Time: Sunset for the most captivating light and cooler temperatures
    • Getting There: Rent a scooter for flexibility or enjoy the comfort of a private driver.
