GILI TURTLE SANCTUARY

British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor created a beautiful underwater sculpture park. The sculptures are located at 10 minutes walking distance from Bagno Di Gili. This is an incredible piece of work with 48 human figures in a circle that is said to represent the connection between humans and nature. Taylor also has underwater sculptures in other parts of the world. This one is only 3 metres below the surface so is easily accessible for snorkelers and divers. Don’t miss this site.

TURTLE RELEASE

As part of our ongoing commitment to save the planet, you are invited to join a heart-warming turtle release experience . Enjoy that wonderful moment as these delicate creatures splash their way into the nourishing waters of ocean. Small concrete tanks with baby turtles hatched from eggs gathered on the beach. The eggs are taken from the beach, hatched then the baby turtles are kept and fed in these open tanks for a few weeks to give them more chance of survival when they enter the ocean.

Automobiles and motorized traffic are prohibited on Gili Meno. The Traditional Cidomo is certainly a very unique way to experience the natural beauty of Gili Meno and its people. The lake is a popular spot for bird watching, with several species of migratory birds passing through the island.
