After many years of living, creating and welcoming guests on this beautiful island, I am often asked how I would personally organise the perfect Lombok escape. Day 1 | Arrival Day and Slow Arrival Into Island Life

The moment I arrive in Lombok, I never rush. Lombok is not an island to ‘do’ immediately. It is an island to slowly melt into. After arriving at the harbour or airport, I would recommend a private transfer to The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel and settle into one of the serene suites overlooking Medana Bay.

MY PERFECT LOMBOK ARRIVAL RITUAL

 

For me, the perfect first day in Lombok is wonderfully simple: a fresh coconut, quiet time by the infinity pool, ocean air, and absolutely no schedules. Our beautiful 25-metre infinity swimming pool at The Lombok Lodge is open daily from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM and offers one of the most peaceful settings to slowly settle into island life.

 

 

If the tides allow, I would also highly recommend experiencing our unique Walk-On-Water experience directly in front of the Boutique Hotel.
With complimentary water shoes provided by our team, guests can walk through the shallow turquoise waters much like local fishermen have done here for generations – a simple yet unforgettable way to connect with the natural beauty of North Lombok.

As evening falls, I would suggest ending your first day with a relaxed dinner overlooking the ocean, accompanied by the gentle sound of the waves and the quiet atmosphere that makes Lombok feel so incredibly special.

Day 2 | Sunrise Rituals & Bagno Di Gili Escape

This is the day I would begin living like a local in Lombok. Lombok mornings are sacred and the island wakes early, gently and beautifully. Once you experience sunrise here, you suddenly understand why life in Lombok naturally follows the rhythm of the sun.

Upon returning from the waterfalls, I would highly recommend continuing your discovery of Lombok’s untouched beauty with a stop at  our Private Villa Estate, where mountain bikes and a dedicated guide will be waiting for you. One of the most calming experiences in Lombok. Practising yoga while overlooking calm turquoise waters at sunrise is something I never skip when staying here. Sessions are private and suitable for both beginners and experienced yoga lovers. After breakfast – and yes, do not miss our signature morning cocktail included during breakfast, available both as a botanical non-alcoholic creation or with alcohol – I would highly recommend the following spa experience.

RINJANI HOT STONE MASSAGE

Using heated Rinjani lava stones, this treatment is deeply therapeutic and grounding. Perfect after hiking and island-hopping days.
