Lombok Garden Tour and visit to Lombok Private Villa Estate

Lombok Organic Gardens by the Sea | Private Garden Tour at Our Villa Estate

20 May 2026 • Written by Ibu Antje

Some places invite you to slow down and reconnect with nature.

Only fifteen to twenty minutes from The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, Medana Bay, hidden among rice paddies, ocean breezes and untouched landscapes, lies our newest addition – Lombok Private Villa Estate. Surrounded by tropical gardens and the natural beauty of Gondang, our Organic Gardens by The Sea Tour offers guests of The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel a journey through fragrant herb gardens, bee farms, coconut groves and local farming traditions, where every path reveals a story about Lombok’s culture, sustainability and connection with nature.

Lombok Beach Gardens at Lombok Private Villa

The Organic Gardens by The Sea | Lombok Villa Estate Garden Tour | A Journey Through Nature

Your experience begins aboard a peaceful Club Car ride through the Estate grounds, guided by our passionate team members who introduce guests to the natural world surrounding the property.
Discover the East Wing and West Wing of The Estate, the Coconut Grove, Ibu Antje’s Duck Farm and The Estate Private Helipad – perhaps the most beautiful helipad in Lombok, surrounded by rice fields and open landscapes.

From Feng Shui Principles to the Sasak Culture

During your club car drive through the Estate, you will discover more about the thoughtful details behind the property.
From Feng Shui principles to the Sasak culture behind our Villa names and why the number 9 holds special meaning for us at The Lombok Lodge Hospitality.

The Story behind our Villa Names

Did you know that our nine exclusive Private Villas have been named using the local Lombok Sasak language?
Discover Villa Sekeq (1) – Villa Dua (2) – Villa Telu (3) – Villa Lima (5) – Villa Nam (6) – Villa Baluq (8) – Villa Siwaq (9) – Villa Sepulu (10) – Villa Solas (11)

Guests exploring The Estate often notice something interesting. Villa Sekeq (1), Villa Dua (2), Villa Telu (3)… Villa Lima (5)… and suddenly there is no Villa 4. Was it forgotten? Not at all. At The Private Villa Estate, many design choices are made with intention, including our villa names and numbers. Inspired by Chinese wisdom , we chose to skip number 4. In Chinese culture, the pronunciation of number 4 is very similar to the word for “death”, which is why it is traditionally avoided in many buildings, homes and hotels throughout Asia. You may even notice some buildings skipping the fourth floor entirely.

Why Number 9 Matters at The Lombok Lodge Hospitality®

Similar to The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel with its 9 Luxury Lodge Suites, and Bagno Di Gili with its 9 Beach Gazebos, The Estate itself consists of 9 Beach Villas. Not simply a number, but a thoughtful detail reflecting our appreciation for balance and design.

Lombok Private Villa Estate has been designed in harmony with Feng Shui principles, creating a natural sense of tranquillity and flow throughout the property.
The positioning of villas, gardens and open spaces contributes to an atmosphere that feels calm and connected to nature.

In Feng Shui, number 9 symbolizes harmony and connection. As the highest single-digit number, it is often associated with bringing things together.
Interesting traditions connected to number 9 include nine fish in a pond – traditionally 8 red or gold fish and 1 dark fish, creating balance and movement

This philosophy quietly appears throughout The Lombok Lodge Hospitality:

Sometimes the smallest details tell the biggest stories.

Lombok Aloe Vera during a Lombok Garden Tour

Your guided Walk Through The Estate Gardens

The walking journey through The Estate begins at the Herb Garden near the Technogym Gym, where aromatic herbs and edible plants flourish beneath the tropical Lombok sun.
Guests are invited to discover fresh basil, peppermint and many other fragrant herbs, experiencing their scents and characteristics up close.

Lombok Aloe Vera

Discover as well our famous Lombok Aloe Vera, used for our highly recommended Aloe Vera After-Sun Body Wrap – particularly refreshing after a sunny day exploring the Gili Islands.

The Estate ‘Liquid Gold’ Bee Farm

Further along, the experience continues at our Lombok Bee Farm, part of our sustainability program in Lombok, where guests discover the fascinating world of honey production and learn about the life within the hives.

Lombok Matcha | The Mother of Medicine

Guests are also introduced to one of Lombok’s most remarkable plants – Moringa, often called Lombok Matcha.
Rich in protein, vitamin B6, vitamin C and iron, Moringa has long been appreciated locally for its nutritional qualities.

Enjoy our Lombok Matcha in various creations:

Lombok Matcha Smoothie Bowl – Lombok Matcha Pancakes – Lombok Matcha Latte – Iced Lombok Matcha Latte – Lombok Matcha Miracle Tea – Traditional Lombok Matcha Soup – Adele’s SirtFood Green Juice
At our Frangipani SpaLombok Spa Treatments | Spa Menu: Magic Moringa Scrub

Papaya Straws as a part of our Sustainability Program

Guests are introduced to one of The Lombok Lodge Hospitality’s sustainable innovations – Papaya Straws.
Rather than using disposable plastic straws, discarded papaya stems are transformed into natural alternatives, supporting both environmental responsibility and local farmers.

Sustainability initiatives including papaya straws, organic gardens, local farming support and our own bee production form part of The Lombok Lodge Hospitality’s commitment to responsible luxury.

Lombok Chili and The Story Behind Lombok & The Gili Islands

The route passes through flourishing chili gardens, introducing guests to one of Lombok’s most iconic ingredients.
Did you know that the word Lombok comes from the local Sasak language? In Indonesian, it can also refer to chili pepper, which has led many people to associate the island with its vibrant flavours and culinary traditions.

Lombok is also famous for its three beautiful Gili Islands – Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air – located northwest of the island.

But did you know that the word Gili simply means small island?

Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three and, although the furthest from The Lombok Lodge, remains only around twenty minutes away by boat.
The Sasak language forms an important part of Lombok’s culture and identity. Rich in history and tradition, it reflects generations of local heritage and tells the story of the island and its people.

Lombok Farming Traditions | Rice Padies & Peanuts

The agricultural plots in front of the Estate provide insight into traditional farming practices, including rice paddy fertilization and peanut cultivation techniques.

The Estate Coconut Grove

From the rice fields, guests continue toward The Estate Coconut Grove and discover why coconuts are often called ‘The Tree of Life’ in Lombok.

Turtle Conservation in Lombok | Turtle Nests & Turtle Sanctuary at The Estate

The journey continues toward one of the Estate’s most heartwarming projects – the Turtle Sanctuary and nesting area – where guests learn about preservation efforts and the importance of protecting local ecosystems.
The beaches at Lombok Private Villa Estate are important nesting grounds for sea turtles.
Guests interested in learning more about nesting seasons, hatchlings, and marine conservation can explore our Turtle Gazette, where we regularly share updates and conservation stories.
After hatching we keep the baby turtles for a short time at our Turtle Sanctuary as a part of our Turtle Conservation Program to make them stronger.

The Estate Boat Docking Station

Visiting Lombok Private Villa Estate allows you to experience Lombok at its purest. Surrounded by the gentle rhythm of daily island life, you will often see local fishermen heading out to sea or returning with the morning’s catch – a tradition that has shaped the coastline for generations.

At The Estate Boat Docking Station, our traditional fishermen boats invite you to pause and experience a quiet moment by the water. Sit back, enjoy the sea breeze, watch the boats gently move with the tide, and take in the peaceful atmosphere of Medana Bay.
For a moment, become part of this simple way of life.
And while sitting there, we invite you to remember The Parable of the Fisherman – the timeless story reminding us that happiness is often found not in having more, but in appreciating what we already have.
Sometimes the most meaningful experiences on Lombok are also the simplest ones.
